mAPs Mentoring Program
The 5 co-founders of mAPs are developing together a high-level mentoring programme reserved for their artistic teams involving professionals from each territory but also from abroad, in support of the production process of the mAPs screendance collection:
3 international campuses during which the 5 artistic teams are gathered around key topics for film development:
Script Development – Malakta (FI) Online / 31 August – 3 September 2020
Pre-Production – DAN.CIN.LAB (FR) Online / 21 – 31 March & 2 – 5 May 2021
Post-Production – COORPI in Lavanderia a Vapore di Collegno, Turin (IT) / October 2021
3 national mentoring periods per country, where each artistic team will be accompanied by a local professional on a subject specific to its film project.
mAPs guest mentors are activist experts committed to develop new narratives about nowadays issues through dance and film.
Alla Kovgan
Director – Editor – Author – Producer
Born in Moscow, Alla Kovgan has divided her time between Europe and the US working with dance and film collaborations on screen, VR and in theatre. She also brings a strong record as a documentary writer/editor.
Her film NORA has received 30 awards in every genre and was broadcast worldwide. She co-directed/wrote/edited an Emmy-nominated TRACES OF THE TRADE (Sundance, PBS), MOVEMENT REVOLUTION AFRICA (ZDF/ARTE) and edited MY PERESTROIKA (Sundance, PBS). Her first VR piece with Finnish music duo Puhti DEVIL’S LUNGS won Grand Prix at the Vienna Shorts Festival, which made her an artist-in-residence at Vienna’s Museum Quarter 21 in 2019.
Her most recent film CUNNINGHAM (2019, France/Germany/US), an award-winning 3D feature documentary about legendary American choreographer Merce Cunningham, has been released theatrically and distributed in 33 countries.

I 5 co-fondatori di mAPs stanno sviluppando un programma di mentoring di alto livello, riservato ai loro team artistici, che coinvolge professionisti del territorio, ma anche dall’estero, a sostegno del processo di produzione della screendance collection di mAPs:
3 campus internazionali durante i quali i 5 team artistici sono coinvolti intorno a temi chiave per lo sviluppo dei film:

Pre-Produzione – DAN.CIN.LAB (FR) Online / 21 – 31 marzo & 2 – 5 maggio 2021
Post-Produzione – COORPI in Lavanderia a Vapore di Collegno, Torino (IT) / Ottobre 2021
3 periodi di mentoring nazionali per paese, dove ogni team artistico sarà accompagnato da un professionista locale su un tema specifico del suo progetto cinematografico.
I mentori ospiti di mAPs sono esperti attivisti impegnati a sviluppare nuove narrazioni su questioni attuali attraverso la danza e il cinema.

Nata a Mosca, Alla Kovgan ha diviso il suo tempo tra l’Europa e gli Stati Uniti lavorando a collaborazioni di danza e cinema, VR e teatro, come scrittrice/editrice di documentari.
